This is what i found between the two channels on the SD2200v2 in my tests. I ground balanced my machine in mineralised soil, fixed GB and waved the 11" DD coil over a 5c, 10c, 20c, 50, $2, $1 coins in a line. Ch2 was the strongest signal and it changed from High tone to Low tone between the $2 and $1 coin.

The 2200D was never a fine gold machine. The Gold Monster will give a clear response on very small pieces of gold the SD2200D can't signal on even rubbing the target on the coil. On solid sluggy gold, it can go deep. It had an excellent auto tracking, perfect for using DD coils in noisy ground.

Also, it was the first detector in the PI series, so it was new technology and made many goldfields around the World almost again. I still remember using the Minelab SD 2000, good old days. I doubt there is much resale value on them, maybe $500 as many of the SD 2100/2200's and GP series sell used for $800-1200. P.S.

It seems people were modding the detector by running higher than 6v batteries on it to get the best out of it and smooth out the threshold. They also all seemed to prefer DD's on it as mono's were too noisy. 8v seems pretty high to be running the batteries at, 7.3 volt seemed to be the preferred aftermarket mod.
